
The Grapevine Hotel is set in the historic market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, amid the warm honey coloured Cotswold stone buildings and rolling countryside, this 17th Century hotel has become justly renowned for its warm hospitality and fine dining.
Named after the ancient vine that shades the hotel’s Conservatory restaurant (the second oldest indoor grapevine in the land, over 110 years old), The Grapevine Hotel also has 22 individually furnished bedrooms, La Vigna Brasserie and the Gigot Bar.
Across the road from The Grapevine, also available to book for your stay in Stow, is our sister hotel – The Royalist. Steeped in history. The Royalist hotel dates back to 947 ad and was built by a Cornish Saxon duke named Aethelmar, as a refuge on the Fosse way.
A grade II listed building, which ranks it amongst the top 4% of protected buildings in the country. Timbers from the hotel have been carbon dated as being over a thousand years old. It is also certified as the oldest inn in England, dating from 947 ad, authenticated by the Guinness book of records.
