… The Hotel
The Grapevine Hotel was established in 1977, having previously been a guest house converted from a 17th Century town house on Sheep Street in Stow-on-the-Wold.
As the hotel's reputation grew, 17th Century town houses on either side of the original building were purchased, and incorporated into the framework of the hotel, taking the hotel to 12 bedrooms.
This expansion continued as a further house to the rear of the hotel was purchased, and with the completion of the 6 Garden Rooms in 1991, the hotel reached its current 22 bedroom capacity.
We purchased the hotel in 2003, and have sought to build on the Grapevine’s reputation for warm, friendly service and as one of the finest eating establishments in the Cotswolds.
Since buying the hotel, we have embarked on a sympathetic programme of renovation and refurbishment, bringing a subtle, contemporary twist to the traditional Cotswold look and feel of the hotel. Bedrooms, bathrooms, restaurant and public areas have all benefited from this investment in the fabric of this beautiful hotel.
At the heart of the hotel are the award-winning Conservatory Restaurant, and the cozy Gigot Bar.
In December 2004, we launched a new restaurant, La Vigna, seeking to offer hotel residents and outside guests a less formal dining experience. La Vigna offers a range of pizza, pasta, tapas and meze dishes, and we have received tremendously positive feedback welcoming this new choice in dining at the Grapevine.
